You choose who decides

In the election, the power is held by the members. Every Cooperative Society customer-owner has precisely the same number of votes in the council election: one. All customer-owners aged 15 or over before the election year may vote.

The Cooperative Society decides the electoral system

The S Group Cooperative Societies decide independently the electoral system applied in electing the Council of Representatives. If your own Cooperative Society has an election in 2016, you will find a link on the election pages to each Society's individual election pages with further information.

How to find information on the election

If you have the right to vote in the election, you will receive information on voting by post in good time before the election. Your Cooperative Society will also release information on the election online at, in its outlets, and possibly in the papers published in the election area.
